Fareway Stores Inc., in partnership with the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), has raised more than $400,000 through two fundraising events this year: the annual MDA Shamrocks Round Up campaign in February and the Fareway MDA Golf Classic presented by 7UP on Aug. 22.
The February roundup campaign, part of MDA’s nationwide Shamrocks initiative, invited Fareway customers to round up their purchases at checkout to support individuals living with muscular dystrophy, ALS and related neuromuscular diseases. The month-long campaign generated $205,178.
The momentum carried into summer with the Fareway MDA Golf Classic, presented by 7UP, hosted at the Beaver Creek Golf Club in Grimes, Iowa. The event brought together community members, corporate sponsors and MDA families for a day of golf and giving. Together, the two events raised $400,000 benefiting MDA’s mission to fund research, care and advocacy across Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, Illinois, Nebraska and Missouri.
Fareway’s commitment to MDA reflects a deep-rooted dedication to community impact.
“We’re proud to stand with MDA in their mission,” said Reynolds Cramer, CEO of Fareway Stores Inc. “These events are a testament to what we can achieve when we come together for a cause that touches so many lives.”
