Fareway Stores Inc. has raised more than $400,000 through two fundraisers – the MDA Shamrocks Round Up campaign and the Fareway MDA Golf Classic – to support the the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s mission to fund research, care and advocacy across Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, Illinois, Nebraska and Missouri.
The February roundup campaign, part of MDA’s nationwide Shamrocks initiative, encouraged Fareway customers to round up their purchases at checkout to support those living with muscular dystrophy, ALS and related neuromuscular diseases. It generated $205,178.
The Fareway MDA Golf Classic, presented by 7UP, was held Aug. 22 at the Beaver Creek Golf Club in Grimes, Iowa. It brought together golfers, corporate sponsors and MDA families for a day of golf and giving.
