G.F. Buche Co. will hold a grand opening celebration Aug. 8 for a Buche’s Gus Stop in Lower Brule, South Dakota.
The event will bring together residents, local leaders and Buche’s employees to herald the new full-service location. In addition to groceries and fuel, the store will feature convenience, hardware, sporting goods and other essential departments.
The celebration kicks off at 11 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Remarks will follow from Tribal Chairman Boyd Gourneau of the Lower Brule Sioux Tribe, and RF Buche, president and CEO of G.F. Buche Co., among others.
Guests are invited to a free community lunch from noon-2 p.m. featuring hot dogs, mac and cheese, cookies and water. There also will be bounce houses and kids activities until 3 p.m.
“Lower Brule has always held a special place in our hearts,” Buche said. “We are grateful for the warm welcome and excited to continue investing in the community, creating access to fresh food and convenient services.”
The location, which is managed by Jason Goodface, is the latest addition to the Buche Foods family, continuing a legacy that began on the Yankton Sioux Reservation and today serves 13 South Dakota communities.
