Kroger’s Dallas Division has kicked off its annual Backpack Boosters school supply drive, which benefits underserved students in independent school districts of Dallas-Fort Worth, East Texas and Northwest Louisiana.
Through July 22, customers can donate a school supply kit for $10 or give $1, $3 or $5. Customers shopping through online delivery or pickup also can participate. The goal for the 2025 campaign is $300,000, which translates to more than 30,000 students receiving the kits.
The purchased school supply kits, which include essential items for students – including pencils, paper, glue and notebooks – will be distributed to schools in districts across Kroger’s Dallas Division.
“We are excited to share that Kroger’s Backpack Boosters campaign is back for a limited time to equip students across DFW, East Texas and Northwest Louisiana with the essential tools they need for a successful school year,” said Rudy DiPietro, president of the division.
“For 17 years, our incredibly generous Kroger customers have joined with our enthusiastic associates in giving kids, teachers and school districts a much-needed head start throughout the communities we serve.”
The Backpack Boosters campaign is supported by SmartWater, Powerade, BodyArmor and VitaminWater.
New this year, Kroger is teaming up with local independent school district partners to post back to school lists to help families shop for required and recommended supplies for the coming year.
Once there, shoppers can follow these steps:
- Enter the school’s zip code.
- Select their child’s school for the list provided.
- Select child’s class to see their teacher’s specific list.
- Add the needed items from the teacher’s list to their shopping list or their cart for online ordering.
