Instacart FoodStorm

As more people seek out freshly prepared foods, Instacart says many grocers are turning to its FoodStorm order management system (OMS) to meet customer expectations and streamline perimeter counter operations.

FoodStorm provides functionality for grocery perimeter counters to streamline order-ahead and foodservice operations, including made-to-order and catering.

Over the first half of 2025, FoodStorm has more than doubled the number of U.S. stores using the platform since the end of 2024.

It is live in more than 2,800 stores across North America, and the company is working to build on this momentum with more launches later this year.

The new wave of grocers that recently joined the FoodStorm community are:

  • Coborn’s Inc. – at four banners in the Midwest: Coborn’s, Hornbachers, MarketPlace Foods and Cash Wise;
  • Giant Eagle – across two banners in the Midwest and Eastern states: Giant Eagle and Market District;
  • Lucky Supermarkets – all locations across the San Francisco Bay Area; and
  • Save Mart – all stores across Central Valley in California.

With FoodStorm, retailers can maximize sales and meet consumer expectations by streamlining and enhancing prepared food operations.

The platform manages the entire process – from ordering and preparation to pick-up – making it easy for customers to place orders, for kitchens to stay organized and for teams to deliver a smooth, efficient experience.
