Allegiance Retail Services, a retailer-owned grocery cooperative, held its annual membership meeting June 25. The gathering, one of the largest in recent years, reflected the strong support and unity among the cooperative’s independent retail members.
Joseph Fantozzi, president and COO of Allegiance Retail Services, praised the exceptional leadership now in place – describing it as the “dream team” for the present and next decade of grocery.
Fantozzi announced the expansion of the cooperative’s technology team to better serve its members with cutting-edge in-store and digital retail solutions. In addition, a new multi-product banner initiative was introduced, designed to deliver benefits for all members and banners.
Standing alongside EVPs Donna Zambo and Samer Rahman and VP Dean Holmquist, Fantozzi also unveiled a new private label brand, Pick & Prosper.
The meeting concluded with the announcement of the Allegiance Retail Services and Foodtown Board of Directors for the 2025-26 fiscal year.
Board appointments include:
- Louis Scaduto Jr., chairman;
- Jason Ferreira, vice chairman;
- Esmail Mobarak, treasurer;
- John Estevez;
- Avi Kaner;
- Noah Katz;
- Michael Mignosi;
- Joseph Parisi; and
- Adam Shapiro.
Shapiro, a new appointee, fills the seat previously held by John “Jack” Shakoor, who did not stand for re-election.
The annual meeting showcased Allegiance’s expansion over the past four years and focus on innovation, leadership and the shared strength of its cooperative network.
