Sara Lee Frozen Bakery is offering a new dessert trend – Cyrus O’Leary’s Mini Cheesecakes.
The portioned desserts come in three flavors: original, featuring a graham crumb crust and crumbled graham topping; salted caramel truffle, topped with salted caramel and brownie pieces; and a strawberry-topped mini cheesecake made with real strawberries and a graham crumb crust.
With snacking playing a big role in consumers’ lives, more shoppers are embracing the “little treats” trend – taking time to enjoy small indulgences. Bakery experts note that mini desserts are gaining in popularity because they offer permissible indulgence and on-the-go snacking. They also enable consumers to sample different flavors and offer portion control.
For retailers, mini desserts, particularly single-serve options, help boost add-on sales by enticing impulse purchasing, take up less display space, reduce waste and give bakers creative freedom to feature new flavors and presentations including seasonal and dietary options.
