Publix Debuts New Supermarkets In NC

Publix Super Markets debuted two North Carolina stores in May – one in Charlotte and the other in Rolesville.

The Rolesville location opened May 21, while the Charlotte store followed on May 28. The 46,791-square-foot stores marked their grand openings with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and gave out commemorative reusable bags to the first 95 customers on opening morning.

The departments highlighted at the new stores include:

• Deli – A full-service counter with a variety of meats and cheeses, international selection of olives, antipastos, hummus and more than 200 artisan cheeses from the U.S. and around the world;
  
• Produce – Organic and conventionally-grown fresh fruits and vegetables, with locally grown produce and exotic choices from around the world. The floral department stocks seasonal bouquets; 
  
• Bakery – Offers an array of cakes, cookies and pies, as well as wedding cakes and desserts made by professional decorators. Breads and rolls are baked fresh throughout the day;
  
• Meat – Features custom cuts, including Publix private label all-natural and organic GreenWise chicken. Customers seeking a home-cooked meal with minimal prep time can choose from ready-to-cook items prepared fresh daily;
  
• Seafood – Carries fresh seafood delivered throughout the week. It includes wild and farm-raised fish, as well as a wide variety of shellfish. Publix’s whole fish and fillets are fresh, never frozen. Sushi chefs create hand-rolled selections daily; and
• Pharmacy – Also includes a large variety of body care products and selection of natural and conventional vitamins, minerals and supplements. The pharmacy also includes a drive-thru.

“We are excited to continue our growth across [North Carolina],” said Publix Media Relations Manager Jared Glover. “We look forward to introducing customers to our new offerings and providing them with the service and quality products they know and love.”

These openings joined a grand opening on May 28 for the newest store in Gainesville, Georgia. In 2023, Publix was named The Shelby Report of the Southeast’s Growth Leader of the Year.
