As the 2028 FDA traceability deadline draws closer, the seafood industry is making significant strides towards compliance, with 40 new seafood suppliers joining the ReposiTrak Traceability Network.
This influx highlights a growing industry-wide push to adopt efficient, regulatory-compliant solutions, especially as retailers also increase their demands for supply chain transparency.
RTN enables seamless exchange of intricate key data elements (KDEs) for each critical tracking event (CTE), which are crucial for meeting the FDA’s Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) 204 requirements.
Randy Fields, chairman and CEO of ReposiTrak, emphasized the dual pressures facing the seafood industry, stating, “Seafood suppliers are not only facing FSMA 204 deadlines but also increased traceability demands from retailers. With our platform these businesses can meet both regulatory and customer requirements quickly, without costly system overhauls.”
The ReposiTrak Traceability Network requires no additional hardware or software, simplifying integration for suppliers. The ReposiTrak team also provides support to facilitate the necessary connections under the new regulations.
The system allows suppliers to connect with an unlimited number of trading partners and share essential data for a low, flat fee, making it an accessible solution for businesses of all sizes looking to enhance their traceability and compliance ahead of the impending deadlines.
