SpartanNash has introduced Brat Shop, a limited-time in-store destination offering classic and new bratwurst flavors at all Family Fare, D&W Fresh Market and Martin’s Super Markets.
The flavors include Honey BBQ, Pineapple Teriyaki, Taco Cheddar and Hot+Sweet Red Chile, as well as regional-inspired options like Philly Cheesesteak and a Michigander classic with a taste of cherry.
“Let’s be frank, we know that summer memories are made around the grill, and every grill master enjoys a little flex for their guests,” said Erin Storm, SVP and chief marketing officer. “The Brat Shop helps grillers up their game with a wide range of crowd-pleasing brats.”
According to a nationwide survey commissioned by SpartanNash and conducted by Talker Research, backyard grilling is a key part of summer for many Americans.
The survey of 2,000 adults found that 66 percent consider summer grilling their favorite time of year. In the Midwest, where SpartanNash operates nearly 200 retail grocery stores, 42 percent of respondents said they enjoy eating brats at barbecues, with 51 percent consuming at least one per month.
The survey also highlighted evolving preferences for toppings and side dishes across different generations.
“No matter what’s on the grill – or on the picnic table to go with it – it’s clear that the best summer ever includes brats, beverages, sides and sweets,” Storm said. “Brat Shop and our stores have everything you need to create new traditions and have fun doing it.”
The Brat Shop, supported by SpartanNash’s meat department and complemented by offerings throughout the store, will be available through Labor Day weekend.
