Catania Oils, one of Massachusetts’ largest manufacturers, recently announced that CEO Anthony Basile was named to Smart Business Network’s 2025 Boston Class of Dealmaker Hall of Famers.
The Boston Dealmakers Conference was held March 20 at The Westin Copley Place.
Catania Oils, a family-owned business for 125 years, has grown into the Northeast’s leading processor and packager of plant-based oils. Under Basile’s leadership, the company has scaled to $500 million in revenue, expanded manufacturing capabilities and transitioned its fourth generation into the business.
Basile has driven innovation through automation and sustainability, forged key partnerships with major food distributors and retailers and upheld the company’s long-standing values of quality and service.
“Anthony Basile exemplifies what it means to be a Master Dealmaker,” said Dustin S. Klein, chief content officer, Smart Business Dealmakers. “His strategic leadership has positioned Catania as a national force in the edible oils industry while honoring a rich family legacy.”
The full 2025 Boston Dealmaker Hall of Fame Class includes:
- Anthony Basile, CEO, Catania Oils;
- Nick Grewal, CEO and president, ePropelled;
- Tara Heath, chief legal officer, general counsel, The Boston Beer Co.;
- Barznab Khan, president and CEO, Rawshon Group of Companies; and
- David MacKeen, CEO, Eliassen Group.
“I’m so grateful for this honor, but it truly belongs just as much to my father and grandfather as it does to me,” Basile said. “They taught me the values that have guided Catania Oils for generations: work hard, never cut corners and take care of your people.
“My father led by example. He wasn’t just a businessman – he was a fighter, a problem-solver and above all, someone who believed in family. My legacy is to carry on our family tradition for future generations.”

About Catania Oils
Catania Oils is a privately held business that expanded from its modest roots in the early 1900s to a multi-million-dollar supplier of quality oils for bulk, retail, foodservice and private label customers.
The 400,000-square-foot operation in Ayer, Massachusetts, is one of the largest indoor bulk oil processing facilities in the country and combines the latest automation technology with efficient processes and warehouse space to ensure a fair price for the high-quality oils it produces.
The company’s tagline, “Authenticity in Every Drop,” is supported by an in-house laboratory that tests the purity of each shipment.
