Publix celebrated the grand opening of a new supermarket April 9 at 178 Virginia Way in Jasper, Georgia.
“We’re excited for the opening of this Publix location in Jasper,” said Nicole Krauss, Publix media relations manager. “We look forward to providing premier service and quality products to new and existing customers in the first mountain city.”
To celebrate its 95th anniversary, Publix gave away commemorative reusable bags to the first 95 customers.
The 48,387-square-foot store will feature the traditional departments that customers expect from Publix, such as:
- Deli – featuring a full-service counter with a variety of meats and cheeses, an international selection of olives, antipastos, hummus and more than 200 artisan cheeses.
- Produce – offering organic fresh fruits and vegetables, with locally grown produce and exotic choices from around the world.
- Bakery – featuring a scratch bakery that offers an array of cakes, cookies and pies, as well as wedding cakes and desserts made by decorators. Breads and rolls are baked fresh throughout the day.
- Meat – highlighting custom cuts of meats, including Publix private label all-natural and organic GreenWise chicken. Customers seeking a home-cooked meal with minimal prep time can choose from ready-to-cook items prepared fresh daily.
- Seafood – including fresh items delivered throughout the week, including wild and farm-raised fish, as well as a wide variety of shellfish. Sushi chefs create hand-rolled selections daily.
- Pharmacy – featuring a full-service pharmacy that also includes a variety of body care products and a selection of natural and conventional vitamins, minerals and supplements.
