Paylessfoods, a Mobridge, South Dakota, retail grocery operation since 1960, will become Buche Foods on Feb. 27, according to RF Buche, CEO and president of G.F. Buche Co.

“We’re proud to have Paylessfoods join our seven other community grocery stores throughout South Dakota,” said Buche, a fourth-generation grocer. “The Stoick family has provided 65 years of service to the Mobridge community, and we plan to continue the standards the Stoicks have established.”

The company has been family operated since Jim Stoick opened Stoick’s Supervalu in 1960. The most recent owners, Josh and Heather Stoick, have carried on the traditions of freshness, high quality and customer service.

“We are going to miss seeing our customers every day, but we also know that community of Mobridge is in great hands,” the Stoicks said in a statement.

Founded in 1905 at Lake Andes, South Dakota, G.F. Buche Co. has become known for savings, service and community involvement through four generations of family ownership.

“We understand the importance of everyday values and personal service in a community grocery store,” Buche said. “Especially in today’s economy, we work hard to provide innovative ways for families to save, including RF’s Rewards and the Buche Foods app, both of which will be coming soon along with our new signage.”

In addition, G.F. Buche Co. works with local food pantries, helps families dealing with cancer through Team Buche Cares and offers Underdog Scholarships to assist high school seniors who need help to continue their education. See more info at www.teambuchecares.org

“G.F. Buche Co. will uphold the traditions the Stoick family has provided through over a half-century of service,” Buche said. “As Buche Foods, the Mobridge store will continue the tradition of savings and selection by offering regional families greater variety and even more ways to save.”
