The Health Exemplar Care clinic that Hy-Vee Inc. has opened at 4255 Elmore Ave. in Davenport, Iowa, is its fifth in the state.
The clinic offers walk-in care to the general public from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Patients of all ages can be seen for a variety of non-life-threatening conditions, including flu, fever, earaches, sprains, simple fractures and cuts. Appointment reservations are available online, and most health insurance is accepted.
Hy-Vee Health Exemplar Care also offers monthly health care memberships. As a member, patients get unlimited access to direct primary care and walk-in care services. They also can connect with providers anytime via text, email or telehealth.
In addition to improving health outcomes, the membership is designed to lower medical expenses for patients and employers by promoting proactive care without the financial burden of a copay or insurance claim for each visit.
The membership can be layered with a major medical health plan or used independently. In addition, members receive priority walk-in care, moving to the front of the line.

Hy-Vee became a joint owner of Exemplar Care in early 2024. The practice was later renamed to Hy-Vee Health Exemplar Care and operates clinics in Ankeny, Bondurant, Des Moines and West Des Moines, Iowa, with more locations expected to open across the Midwest over the next several months.
