FMI – The Food Industry Association announced Badge as the champion of the fourth-annual FMItech Pitch Competition held during the FMI Midwinter Executive Conference Jan. 30-Feb. 2 on Marco Island, Florida.

Three finalists presented food industry technology solutions, with conference attendees casting votes to determine the winner.

“I’m thrilled to see how the FMItech Pitch Competition continues to spotlight the innovative drive propelling the food industry forward. This year’s competitors are tackling solutions to critical issues such as market shifts, supply chain disruptions and workforce challenges,” said Doug Baker, FMI’s VP of industry relations.

“Our winner stands out for their mobile payment technology, highlighting the powerful role technology can play in transforming our sector.”

This year, 20 contestants submitted video nominations, which were evaluated by a panel of food industry judges.

The three FMItech Pitch Competition finalists and their solutions are:

  • Badge: A no-code mobile wallet platform enabling retailers to deliver app-like, personalized experiences within Apple, Google and Samsung Wallets – without requiring app downloads or online accounts.
  • NoxuData: An advanced data solutions company using artificial intelligence-powered analytics to optimize food industry operations. Its platform features multi-agent architectures, allowing users to interact with a virtual CPG data analyst rather than a basic chatbot.
  • Workrz: A flexible job-sharing platform connecting freelancers with businesses, fostering long-term frontline employment. Workrz helps service workers manage multiple part-time roles while reducing high turnover rates for employers.

FMI members can explore these and other leading-edge technology companies through the exclusive FMI Tech Directory.

As the food industry association, FMI works with and on behalf of the entire industry to advance a safer, healthier and more efficient consumer food supply chain. FMI brings together a range of members across the value chain – from retailers that sell to consumers, to producers that supply food and other products, as well as the wide variety of companies providing critical services – to amplify the collective work of the industry.
