Customers lined up early in the morning Jan. 29 to visit the newly redesigned Northgate González Market at 831 N. Hacienda Blvd. in La Puente, California.
The new-look store highlights more of the fresh and prepared Mexican foods customers want, along with easy-to-navigate check stands for those on the go.
“Today marks a special milestone for Northgate González Market as we celebrate the re-grand opening of our La Puente store,” said Miguel González, co-president of the company.
“We have always taken pride in being more than just a grocery store. We are a place where tradition, culture and family come together. With this redesign, we are excited to offer our customers an even better shopping experience that honors the foods and flavors they love while providing high-quality service and modern convenience.”
Company officials joined La Puente Mayor Valerie Muñoz, Mayor Pro-tem Charlie Klinakis and other community leaders for a cermonial ribbon cutting. The first 300 customers received “I Love La Puente” canvas bags filled with free groceries.
Although Northgate Market opened its first La Puente store in the early 1990s, the company moved to the current 37,425-square-foot location in June 2005. The store features vibrant colors and wide, open spaces in the produce department and other areas.
