Portland, Oregon-based New Seasons Market has shared that CEO Nancy Lebold has departed, with company veteran Dave Kauder stepping into a new leadership role.
A longtime member of the its executive leadership team, Kauder will serve as SVP of retail, where he’ll support the grocer’s core business goals while driving customer experience, staff engagement and local partnerships.
Kauder will draw on his nine years at New Seasons Market, as well as his industry background, to foster sustainable growth within the organization. With roots in merchandising, marketing and operations, he will now be responsible for the day-to-day at New Seasons, continuing to drive business success while strengthening the organization’s community ties.
The leadership transition is part of a broader strategic shift within New Seasons Market, designed to enhance the company’s long-term growth and success.
Lebold, who joined New Seasons Market in 2021, began her journey in the grocery industry after attending a career-day event at Oregon State University. She went on to work with Waremart Foods (now WinCo Foods) and Food 4 Less.

Founded in 2000 by three families and 50 friends in Portland, New Seasons Market has nearly 2,700 staff members across 21 stores in Oregon and Washington, serving a mix of locally sourced and organic items, classic grocery favorites and chef-made grab-and-go meal solutions.
