Schnuck Markets Inc. has begun a remodel on its store at 401 Central Ave. in Union, Missouri.
The remodel is expected to be completed later this spring. Schnucks acquired the 33,000-square-foot Union location in October 2022. The store has 44 employees.
Highlights of the Schnucks Union remodel will include:
- New seafood department;
- Renovated deli;
- Bakery department enhancements that will allow for an expanded assortment of fresh donuts as well as ice cream cakes;
- Addition of self-checkouts; and
- Addition of curbside pickup through Instacart.
“My team and I are excited to show our customers the finished product, but in the meantime, we ask that shoppers ‘pardon our dust’ as we work to bring them a more complete grocery shopping experience,” said Pam Janssen, store manager. “With this remodel, we’ll be able to offer our customers more services and options, while continuing to be the ‘Friendliest Store in Town.’”

Founded in St. Louis in 1939, Schnuck Markets is a third- and fourth-generation, family-owned grocery retailer operating 114 stores in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. The company annually donates more than $15 million in food to pantries that help those in need.
