The Fresh Market held a grand opening Dec. 5 for its second store in Louisville, Kentucky.
The location, the fresh-food specialty retailer’s 165th overall, offers an elevated shopping environment featuring an extensive selection of fresh, local, organic and specialty items.
The celebration kicked off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8 a.m., with the first 500 customers receiving gift bags.
“At The Fresh Market, we strive to create a shopping experience that goes beyond ordinary,” said Jason Potter, CEO. “We take pride in providing a selection of the freshest meat, seafood and produce with a curation of special ingredients, sourced both locally and globally, to make eating an extraordinary experience for guests.”

In addition to offering curated products, the store offers ready-to-eat restaurant selections such as in-house smoked pit barbecue featuring fresh brisket, ribs and pork. Another option is fresh pizza made with artisanal crust, sauce comprised of Italian-grown tomatoes and salt and topped with BelGioioso mozzarella cheese.
To mark the grand opening, the grocer presented the Dare to Care Food Bank with a check for $2,000.
The store will offer special deals and promotions throughout the coming weeks in celebration of its opening and the holidays. An array of platter and catering options are available by ordering ahead through the website.
