H-E-B opened a new 127,000-square-foot store Nov. 13 at 2641 E. Pflugerville Pkwy. in Pflugerville, Texas, the retailer’s third location in the city.
The store includes the city’s first True Texas BBQ restaurant and has distinctive features such as H-E-B curbside with covered parking, full-service H-E-B pharmacy with two-lane drive-thru, fuel station with car wash and Texas Backyard, which offers products for gardening and outdoor entertaining.
“Our H-E-B partners are excited to serve our neighbors in this growing community, which we have proudly been a part of for 35 years,” said Cathy Harm, H-E-B’s SVP of Central Texas. “We are excited to provide our customers a dynamic shopping experience that offers a wide assortment of quality products, innovative services and the best H-E-B has to offer.”

While H-E-B operates more than 30 True Texas BBQ locations across the state, the restaurant is the first for Pflugerville. It serves all-natural meats that are smoked in-house over Texas oak wood, as well as sides such as brisket beans, creamed corn and homestyle potato salad.
H-E-B designed the store to reflect the character of the Pflugerville community. The location incorporates environmental sustainability design elements and several energy-efficient inclusions, such as CO2 refrigeration units, LED lighting and native landscaping throughout the property. It will have more than 500 employees.
H-E-B commemorated the store’s grand opening by giving $5,000 each to the Circle of Hope Community Center, For the Children, American Legion Kerlin-Lyerly Post 154 and The Trail Conservancy, to support beautification efforts for the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail.
In October 1987, the company debuted its first Pflugerville store at 1434 Wells Branch Parkway. In June 2000, its second location in the city opened at 201 N FM 685.
