Albertsons Market presented a check Oct. 30 to The Storehouse New Mexico for $14,343.26, which will provide more than 71,000 meals for those struggling with food insecurity across the community.
Albertsons Market ran the donate-at-the-register campaign in October to raise money to support the mission of The Storehouse New Mexico. Whether it’s campaigns like this one or the donation for fresh produce and other food, Albertsons Market is always looking to support organizations battling hunger and food insecurity.

“We are proud to continue our tradition of supporting The Storehouse New Mexico,” said Carlos Hernandez, regional VP for The United Family, the parent company for Albertsons Market. “I’m so thankful to our loyal guests who helped us raise these funds. We know just how much these donations mean to this organization and the families they serve.”
The funds given to The Storehouse benefit New Mexico families and individuals who receive food assistance from the organization. As one of the largest food pantries in the state, The Storehouse serves about 55,000 people a year.
“The Storehouse has been supporting record numbers of people this year, so we greatly appreciate Albertsons Market and Market Street stores for hosting a fundraiser at their registers,” said Kevin Cochran, program manager for The Storehouse New Mexico. “This gift, made possible by the Albertsons Market team and their customers in central New Mexico, will provide over 71,000 meals to local families.”
