SpartanNash and its foundation raised $130,000 for Junior Achievement during their annual back-to-school in-store and online fundraiser.
Donations made through Sept. 2 will be distributed in local markets to provide young people with lessons in financial literacy, work and career readiness and entrepreneurship.
The fundraiser is part of the partnership between SpartanNash and JA to develop programs that help students explore careers in the food industry, which is aligned with JA’s mission to “inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.”
The partnership has included the launch of an experiential activation at JA Finance Park that is designed to teach students about career paths within the grocery industry.
“The collaboration with JA underscores our deep commitment to empowering students and building brighter futures in the communities we are privileged to serve,” said SVP of Communications and Executive Director of the SpartanNash Foundation Adrienne Chance, who also serves on the board of directors for JA of Michigan Great Lakes.
“We’re incredibly grateful to our store guests for joining us in these fundraising efforts, supporting the tools that will help young people thrive and succeed.”
