Whole Foods Market Planning Two Store Openings In October

Whole Foods Market logo

The openings for two new Whole Foods Market stores on opposite sides of the U.S. are fast approaching – a 42,560-square-foot location Oct. 10 at 790 Lyannough Road in Hyannis, Massachusetts, and a 50,338-square-foot site Oct. 16 at 12500 N Tatum Blvd. in Phoenix, Arizona.

Both locations are replacing existing stores in the area.

Whole Foods in Hyannis

Larger than its predecessor, the new Hyannis’ store draws inspiration from Cape Cod’s coastal setting, incorporating themes of wind and water into neutral and deep earth tones. The store’s product assortment will feature more than 370 items from New England, sourced with the help of Holly Long, a Whole Foods forager for local and emerging brands.

On the morning of the grand opening, customers can sample coffee from Jim’s Organic Coffee and pastries from Pain D’Avignon Bakery. The first 300 people  will receive a limited-edition tote bag and a coupon featuring offers of up to $100 off.

Whole Foods Market will donate a Nourishing Our Neighborhoods van to Family Table Collaborative. This initiative, part of the Nourishing Our Neighborhoods program launched in 2020, aims to enhance the operational capabilities of food rescue organizations, enabling them to transport food from surplus locations to areas with the greatest need more efficiently.

The store will offer grocery delivery and pickup to residents, and it will also have an Amazon returns counter and kiosk.

Whole Foods in Phoenix

The Phoenix store features decor that represents Arizona, including desert landscapes. The larger footprint provides more parking spaces and allows for an indoor and outdoor seating area, as well as expanded product assortment featuring more than 330  items from Arizona, sourced with the help of Lisa Tosun, a Whole Foods forager for local and emerging brands.

On the store’s opening morning, customers can sample coffee from ROC2 and snacks from Laura’s Gourmet and Midi Bites. The first 300 customers receive a coupon featuring offers of up to $100 off. Paradise Valley Community Food Bank will receive a food donation as part of the Nourishing Our Neighborhoods Program.
