Weis Markets has opened two specialty sites in Pennsylvania – a Gas N’ Go Fuel Center at its store on Pleasant Valley Boulevard in Altoona and a beer-wine café at its location in Chambersburg.

Fuel center

The store marked the grand opening with a $5,500 donation to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, an organization Weis Markets works with throughout the year.

The new Gas N’ Go Fuel Center, which began construction in April, features six pumps, including two that offer diesel. It will be open from 7 a.m.-9 p.m. daily.

“We look forward to the added level of convenience our new fuel center will offer our customers,” said Maria Rizzo, VP of marketing and advertising. “Customers can now use their Weis rewards points in more ways than one, at the pump and during their weekly grocery trips.”

With Weis Gas Rewards, customers can save 10 cents per gallon for every 100 Weis Rewards points they redeem. Each time they shop at Weis Markets, they can accumulate Weis Reward points for more gas savings.

The store commemorated the grand opening with $500 donations to three local organizations – Chambersburg Area School District Foundation, Chambersburg Recreation Center and Chambersburg Police Department.

“With the launch of our beer and wine café at our Chambersburg store, we proudly mark the culmination of this exciting project,” Rizzo said. “We’re delighted to provide our customers with enhanced convenience and an expanded selection, making their shopping experience even more enjoyable throughout the entire store.”

The café sells more than 450 varieties of premium, imported and craft beer. It also sells more than 300 varieties of domestic and imported wine.

Earlier this summer, the company completed the initial portion of the remodel, which included new décor, an expanded dairy department and increased selections of take-out and prepared meals, specialty cheeses and organic and natural products in dairy and frozen.
