Food City Holds Grand Reopening In Maynardville, TN

Food City company officials hosted a grand reopening celebration July 24 for the newly expanded and remodeled Food City in Maynardville, Tennessee.

“Our customers will find the same smiling faces, top quality products, exceptional customer service and competitive pricing they have come to expect from Food City, along with some exciting new services and conveniences,” said Steven C. Smith, Food City president and CEO.

More than 9,200 square feet of retail space has been added to the store, bringing the total square footage to 53,000 square feet and creating 75 new area jobs. The expansion includes the addition of a Starbucks café, offering a wide assortment of blended hot and cold coffees and beverages and an assortment of breakfast sandwiches and pastries.

The meat, seafood, produce, grocery, dairy and frozen food departments were expanded to allow for added variety and selection. The food service department has been enlarged to make way for new services, including a fresh food bar featuring a variety of soup, salad and fruit selections, Asian Wok, brick pizza oven, hickory smoker, a large selection of specialty cheeses, fresh sushi, a specialty cake shop and a fireplace. The floral department has been expanded and moved to the front of the store.

A new walk-up window was added to the Food City pharmacy in addition to being expanded, and four new pumps were added to the Food City Gas ‘n Go fuel center for a total of 10 pumps offering top quality fuel/diesel.

“I would like to thank our loyal customers for their understanding and patience during the construction process,” said Scott Inklebarger, store manager. “I think our customers will agree that these exciting new services were well worth the wait.”
