El Super Opens New Location In Bell Gardens, CA

El Super, a California-based chain of Hispanic-focused supermarkets, held a ribbon cutting for its new store July 17 at 7102 Eastern Ave. in Bell Gardens, California.

The 41,000-square-foot store marks the second new El Super of the year, following the brand’s last store opening in San Ysidro, California.

The store provides shoppers with an assortment of grocery products from Latin America, as well as household favorites. An extensive in-house bakery with freshly made pastries, breads and tortillas is complemented by full-service meat and seafood departments featuring the best cuts of meat, pork, poultry, fresh fish, shellfish and specialty items at great value and quality. About 125 positions have been filled to fully staff the new store.

“We can’t wait to open our doors in Bell Gardens and extend a warm welcome to our community,” said Sal Esquer, senior regional director for El Super, said prior to the grand opening. “The El Super shopping experience combines great prices with outstanding service, tailored to meet the unique needs of everyone in our vibrant community.”

Store highlights include:

  • Bakery featuring pastries, specialty breads and pan dulce with available customization for birthdays and special occasions.
  • Tortilleria serving fresh tortillas daily in convenient packaging.
  • Seafood department with an assortment of fish, shellfish and specialty items.
  • A full-service meat department featuring a wide selection of beef, pork and chicken at value prices, as well as butchers ready to assist customers.
  • Deli cheese counter stocked with salsas, handcrafted ceviches and aguachiles prepared fresh daily, and a selection of bulk and prepackaged meats, sausages and cheeses.
  • A quick-service restaurant where customers can enjoy a variety of dishes, snacks and treats made in-store with ingredients sourced daily.

In celebration of the opening, El Super presented two $3,000 donations to Human Services Association, a Bell Gardens-based nonprofit agency that provides families with compassionate and comprehensive care, and the Mexican-American Opportunity Foundation, which seeks to improve the socio-economic betterment of the greater Latino community in Los Angeles through social, education and senior lifestyle programs. The donations are part of El Super’s commitment to supporting organizations and causes in the communities where it operates.
