Krasdale Foods received the Champion of the Foundation award from the New York Yankees Foundation at its 44th annual homecoming dinner. This event honors one company each year, selected by the foundation’s board members.
The New York Yankees Foundation hosted the dinner and award ceremony at the New York Hilton hotel in May, recognizing Krasdale Foods along with Orlando “El Duque” Hernandez as the Pride of the Yankees recipient and Jeffrey H. Barker as the recipient of the Community Service Award.
“Working together with the Yankees Foundation, with our annual events including a food certificate giveaway and food drive, we have been privileged to provide food for New Yorkers in need, and together we have provided tens of thousands of pounds of food,” said Gus Lebiak, president and chief operations officer at Krasdale Foods. “Both the NY Yankees and Krasdale Foods have been a part of the fabric of the Bronx, New York City and beyond for more than 100 years, and we are proud to be in good company with another organization that has not only existed for this long but shares our passion to do good. I’m thankful for this honor.”
Krasdale Foods’ receiving the Champion of the Foundation award at this year’s event is a culmination of a longstanding positive relationship with both the New York Yankees team and the New York Yankees Foundation through several annual events, such as a food certificate giveaway and food drives before the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
