King Kullen Grocery Co. Inc. has named Tracey Cullen as SVP of company operations.
Cullen most recently served as King Kullen’s VP of corporate strategy and initiatives. She is the great-granddaughter of King Kullen founder Michael J. Cullen and daughter of former King Kullen Co-President Brian C. Cullen. The announcement was made by King Kullen President and Chief Operating Officer Joseph W. Brown.
“As a fourth-generation member of the King Kullen founding family, Tracey has displayed the skills and dedication required to help lead King Kullen to future successes,” Brown said.
“Her promotion reflects the continuation of family leadership guiding the direction of King Kullen. Everyone at King Kullen joins me in congratulating Tracey on her senior operational role.”
A resident of Amityville, New York, Cullen began her career at King Kullen in 2010. She serves on the King Kullen Board of Directors and the board of directors of Long Island Cares, where she advances the food bank’s goal of improving food security and helping families achieve self-sufficiency.

Prior to joining King Kullen, Cullen practiced as an attorney in the New York and Stamford offices of a national labor and employment law firm. She received her MBA from Columbia Business School and a law degree from St. John’s University.
Headquartered in Hauppauge, New York, King Kullen was founded in 1930. The Smithsonian Institute acknowledges King Kullen as America’s first supermarket, as it was “the first to fulfill all five criteria that define the modern supermarket: separate departments, self-service, discount pricing, chain marketing and volume dealing,” according to the grocer’s website.
