GrubMarket, a provider of AI-powered technology solutions for the food supply chain, has acquired Parsemony, a California-based company offering comprehensive software services to fresh produce distributors and wholesalers.
This acquisition strengthens GrubMarket’s software capabilities and expands the functionality of its current product portfolio, including WholesaleWare and GrubAssist.
Parsemony’s solutions include:
- Cloud-based point-of-sale systems for managing inventory and orders within warehouses.
- Custom software development to enhance core functionalities like online ordering and integrations with accounting systems.
- Comprehensive IT services for food supply chain businesses, including network setup, cybersecurity and hardware maintenance.
Following the acquisition, Parsemony will continue under its current leadership, and its customers will gain access to GrubMarket’s additional software and AI tools such as GrubMarket’s WholesaleWare, GrubAssist, Orders IO and GrubPay.
“I have been building software and technology solutions for the fresh produce industry for almost two decades now. I’ve worked with all sorts of customers in the food space, from smaller nonprofits to global name-brand supermarket chains, and I find it extremely rewarding to help them transform from traditional, offline businesses to more modernized, tech-enabled operations, driven by customized and thoughtful software solutions,” said Colin Hare, owner of Parsemony.
“Parsemony is excited to join GrubMarket, which shares our passion for utilizing technology to maximize value for the food supply chain industry, which is still predominantly comprised of ‘old school’ businesses that have yet to tap into the potential of what technology has to offer … We can’t wait to help further GrubMarket’s mission to be the most impactful digital transformer for the entire food industry.”

Mike Xu, CEO of GrubMarket, said the acquisition solidifies GrubMarket’s position as a leading technology provider for the food supply chain.
“Parsemony has a sterling reputation amongst the fresh produce industry’s software and technology ecosystem and also nicely complements GrubMarket’s existing software products, including WholesaleWare, GrubAssist and AI Orders. We’re also thrilled to bring Colin’s considerable expertise to GrubMarket, to support the continued evolution and growth of our best-in-class AI-powered software and e-commerce offerings for our customers,” Xu shared.
“Colin understands what produce wholesalers need and how to speak their language, and he has a lot of experience working on multi-million-dollar contracts with some of the country’s largest food retailers and organizations. Together, GrubMarket and Parsemony will deliver tremendous value to our customers as we support their transitions into a new digital era.”
Parsemony’s software suite will join GrubMarket’s current portfolio of software solutions, including WholesaleWare (ERP software), GrubAssist (AI assistant) and Orders IO (mobile e-commerce solution).
This move adds to the growing list of companies that GrubMarket has acquired. The company recently took over Butter, a San Francisco-based software company specializing in AI-powered solutions for food wholesalers, and Performance Produce, a North Carolina-based fresh produce business.
