Coborn’s Inc. will hold a grand opening June 19 for a shopping center in Otsego, Minnesota, that is anchored by a Coborn’s Marketplace that features expanded grocery and liquor stores, as well as the addition of Erbert & Gerbert’s, Ace Hardware and Pet Supplies Plus.
The expansion, which was announced in January, includes an additional 10,000 square feet to accommodate wider aisles and about 2,900 new products.
“Coborn’s has enjoyed being part of the Otsego community for the past few years,” said Dennis Host, SVP of marketing and communications.
“As we’ve watched and been part of the growth of the community, we’re excited about our investment in this convenient and refreshed shopping campus, offering our guests a larger assortment of fresh grocery products, friendly service and a remarkable shopping experience – with multiple retail offerings to meet a variety of needs for Otsego residents.”

This expansion also includes the addition of Erbert and Gerbert’s Sandwich Shop inside the store. The eatery features dine-in, pick-up and drive-thru services.
The liquor store was also expanded to carry a larger assortment of beer, wine and liquor products and an in-store tasting center. Caribou Coffee, which is also part of the main building, offers in-store and drive-thru service.
Ace Hardware and Pet Supplies Plus have been added to the northwest corner of the property.
The grand opening will include giveaways, including free groceries to the first 50 guests, cake, an appearance by Coborn’s mascot Moobell, prizes, a cookout and an ice cream truck.
The celebration will continue through June 20 with music by Tim Fast and root beer floats June 21. June 27 is Kids Day, with ice cream and activities for children and adults. Exclusive offers and food samples will be available each day throughout the store.
In 2021, Coborn’s was named The Shelby Report of the Midwest’s Retailer of the Year.
