Heritage Grocers Group has shared that its banner company, Tony’s Fresh Market, is marking its 45th anniversary with a year-long celebration featuring special sales, promotions, employee spotlights and increased philanthropic support.
“From our humble beginnings in 1979, Tony’s has steadily grown into a thriving Chicagoland mainstay known for providing the most authentic offerings and freshest products that celebrate life, family and culture,” said CEO Frank Ingraffia.
“As we embark upon our year-long 45th anniversary celebration, we express our heartfelt gratitude to our loyal customers, our dedicated [employees] and vendor partners who have all contributed to the company’s success and made this remarkable milestone possible.”
Tony’s launched its anniversary celebration with a special ad highlighting the company’s history, and throwback pricing offering staple items at $.45 cents.
In addition, Tony’s Charitable Foundation will honor the occasion by starting a scholarship program.
Each Tony’s store location will award one $3,000 scholarship to a student who demonstrates academic excellence, financial need, leadership attributes and a commitment to serving their community. In total, $63,000 in scholarship funds from Tony’s 21 store locations will be awarded for the 2024-25 academic year.
