Harris Teeter will return as the sole presenting sponsor for the 47th annual Cooper River Bridge Run in Charleston, South Carolina.
“Harris Teeter has been serving the Lowcountry for 48 years, growing in the community right alongside the Cooper River Bridge Run,” said Danna Robinson, director of corporate affairs for Harris Teeter.
“We’re thrilled to be back for our eighth year sponsoring the Cooper River Bridge Run and proud to be the sole presenting sponsor this year. We love serving the Lowcountry and are excited for a great race week.”
Taking place April 6, the Cooper River Bridge Run is the third largest 10K in the U.S. and represents a tradition of health, wellness and community spirit in the Lowcountry. Harris Teeter echoes this tradition through its commitment to providing high-quality, fresh ingredients and to giving back to the communities it operates in.
Race participants are invited to visit the Health & Wellness Expo on April 5 to pick up race packets and shirts and visit the 200 vendor booths – including booths from Harris Teeter and its vendors – for free samples, product demonstrations and photo booth at the Charleston Area Convention Center.
On race day, among the more than 30,000 racegoers look for “Team Teeter,” made up of hundreds of Harris Teeter’s associates and running partners.
“Harris Teeter’s sponsorship of the Cooper River Bridge Run is something we look forward to each race year,” said Mark Cellars, Cooper River Bridge Run deputy director. “The spirit of the Harris Teeter associates who volunteer at the event exemplify our mission of community involvement and volunteerism.”
Harris Teeter has eight stores in the Charleston area, with a new store opening in Summerville later this spring. Harris Teeter also has partnerships with various local nonprofits and provides financial support of area schools through its Together in Education program and has donated millions in food and funds to the Lowcountry Food Bank.
