Tops Friendly Markets has promoted Tom Petrie to human resources specialist for the Buffalo East and North Districts, where he will work with store management and the union to create a positive employment environment.
In addition, Petrie will work to ensure legal compliance with federal and state human resource requirements and provide guidance to store management as it pertains to HR policies and procedures.
He also will continue to play an integral role in the training and development of its employees, which is his true passion.
Petrie joined Tops Markets in 2000 as a store manager in the Wilson Farms Division. He transferred to the Tops Division in 2003 as an operations manager and worked in the Buffalo East District.
During his tenure as an operations manager, Petrie played a role in training new front-end programs, the food item management rollout and was on the HR acquisition team when new stores or companies were acquired.
Petrie volunteers with Junior Achievement of WNY and is also president of Buffalo Niagara Honor Flight.
