The new supermarket Giant Food is opening Jan. 26 at 5320 Zenith Overlook in Bethesda, Maryland, will replace a nearby location and include a pharmacy, Ledo Pizza Corner Shoppe and Ben’s Chili Bowl.
Other amenities of the Bethesda Giant Food include full-service meat and seafood departments, an expanded gourmet cheese selection, extensive prepared food offerings, fresh sushi and a Starbucks cafe.
“We’re thrilled to introduce a new store to the Bethesda community, including our newest pharmacy, offering ample space, expansive departments, great value and plenty of services and conveniences to delight our customers,” said Ira Kress, president.
The full-service Giant Food Pharmacy offers a variety of services, such as vaccines and free consultations.
Giant also recently expanded its Flexible Rewards loyalty program so members can earn points through eligible pharmacy transactions, including prescriptions and immunizations.
Ledo Pizza Corner Shoppe
In addition, Giant is expanding its partnership with Ledo Pizza, with the Bethesda store housing the 13th Ledo Pizza Corner Shoppe location for Giant Food.
Giant has also partnered at the store with Ben’s Chili Bowl, a Washington D.C.-based restaurant, which offers an array of comfort foods.
“Food is a reflection of the communities in which we live. Unique restaurants like Ledo Pizza and Ben’s Chili Bowl are special, integral fixtures that truly provide a taste of home,” Kress said.
“Featuring them in our stores is something very special for Giant and our customers.”
The new store replaces one at 5400 Westbard Ave. in Bethesda. All staff members were offered the opportunity to transfer and customers will not experience an interruption in service as it will open the morning after the former location closes.
