Festival Foods has been named a 2023 Top Disability-Friendly Employer in Wisconsin, a first-time honor presented by Disability:IN Wisconsin.
“The Top Disability-Friendly Employer in Wisconsin Award is a testament to companies genuinely committed to creating inclusive workplaces where people with disabilities can thrive,” said Judy Quigley, the organization’s executive director.
Melissa Van Gheem, senior human resources director at Festival Foods, accepted the award Oct. 12 at the 2023 Disability:IN Wisconsin Summit. Hosted by American Family Insurance in Madison, the event brought together leaders and advocates for disability inclusion.
Van Gheem highlighted the grocer’s efforts in cultivating a workplace that encourages belonging for all associates.
“This award truly acknowledges our dedication to serving associates with varying abilities,” she said.
“I’m proud that Festival Foods actively hires individuals with disabilities and supports their growth into fulfilling careers. Collectively, we promote the abilities of those we serve, transcending any focus on disabilities.”
Festival Foods provides equal opportunities for people of all abilities. Its human resources team has been instrumental in ensuring the growth and success of those with disabilities within the company.
In addition, Festival Foods provides employees with paid parental leave, an associate discount; health, dental and vision insurance; Employee Assistance Program; a 401(k) retirement savings plan; and Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
