Skogen’s Festival Foods has announced a new paid parental leave benefit for its 8,000 full- and part-time employees, effective Jan. 1.
Following the birth of a child or placement of a child in connection to adoption or foster care in their homes, employees can receive three weeks of paid parental leave.
The benefit is intended to allow time away from work while providing financial support as associates adjust to life with their newest family additions.
“As a family- and employee-owned company, family has always been the heart of everything we do,” said Melissa Van Gheem, senior human resources director.
“Our new paid parental leave benefit is a testament to our unwavering commitment to supporting our associates and their families.”
In addition to paid parental leave, Festival Foods’ benefits package includes an associate discount; health, dental and vision insurance; Employee Assistance Program; a 401(k) retirement savings plan; and Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
Founded in 1946 as Skogen’s IGA, Festival Foods is a family- and employee-owned grocer, operating 41 full-service supermarkets across Wisconsin. The company began operating as Festival Foods in 1990.
The company recently opened a new Festival Foods store in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin – the first one in the region to feature a food court.
