ShopRite will hold a grand opening celebration Oct. 25 for a new full-service supermarket at 1 Wiebel Plaza in Sussex, New Jersey.
The store is owned by RoNetco Supermarkets, a family-owned company with nearly a century in the grocery business and eight ShopRite stores in northwestern New Jersey.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. with Co-President and COO Dominick J. Romano and Co-President and CFO David Romano, as well as supervisors, merchandisers, managers and employees.
Prior to that, the Wallkill Valley High School Marching Band will perform and local American Legion Unit 213 will conduct a flag-raising ceremony.
Shoppers will find demos throughout the store from 12-5 p.m., as well as promotional items and giveaways, live music, a photo booth, face painter and balloon artist.
The store will offer customers a wide selection of groceries, including ShopRite’s award-winning Bowl & Basket, Wholesome Pantry and Paperbird Own Brands, locally sourced foods and a variety of fresh-prepared and restaurant-style meals.
“RoNetco Supermarkets has a long history of commitment to the communities where our ShopRite stores operate, and we look forward to officially becoming a part of the great Sussex community,” said Dominick J. Romano.
With an emphasis on reducing its eco-footprint, the store features energy-efficient refrigeration and LED lighting throughout the store and its parking lot.
Featured departments of ShopRite’s Sussex store include:
- True Value Hardware
The supermarket boasts the first hardware section in a ShopRite store. The department will have everything needed for do-it-yourself and home improvement projects.
- Fresh, walk-in seafood market
Designed as a temperature-controlled, in-store space, the seafood market offers customers a variety of fresh seafood delivered daily. Specialists at the counter can help with selection and recipe ideas, and steam orders for free.
- Full-service meat department
This department will feature fresh daily ground beef, a variety of organic, natural selections and grass-fed offerings, ready-to-cook signature items and simply sourced products. Certified Journeyman Butchers can also custom cut meat for customers.
- Fresh-to-table prepared foods and deli department
Shoppers can also enjoy an assortment of prepared foods and grab-and-go items, including made-to-order sandwiches, freshly prepared take-home entrees and sushi.
