Northgate González Market has recognized 12 people during its Juntos Awards campaign, in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.
Born out of the pandemic, the program’s message is that “we are all united in this journey to help those less fortunate,” according to the company. As part of the award, Northgate Market has announced $24,000 in grants to local nonprofits, selected by the honorees themselves, as beneficiaries of these funds.
“When my family first opened the doors to Northgate Market in 1980, we made a solemn commitment to give back to our valued customers,” said Miguel González, co-president.
“We have been truly blessed to have dedicated store associates, loyal vendors and steadfast community partners who consistently go above and beyond to support our mission of serving the Southern California community.”
Over the past year, Northgate Market has partnered with more than 200 community organizations, working to address critical issues such as food insecurity, providing free health screenings and conducting chronic disease and nutrition education programs.
The Familia González Reynoso Foundation recently distributed more than $200,000 in scholarships, furthering its commitment to the community’s educational advancement.
