In honor of its 100th anniversary, Carlisle, Pennsylvania-based The Giant Co. is kicking off a month of anniversary deals for its customers, as well as making a $100,000 donation to Second Harvest Food Bank.
The four weeks of anniversary deals, available to customers with a Giant or Martin’s card, are set for Sept. 1-28, with new products and promotions each week in store and online.
“Since 1923, we’ve been committed to providing our customers savings, quality and selection – it’s who The Giant Co. is,” said Joanna Crishock, VP of marketing and commercial planning.
“This milestone wouldn’t be possible without our customers, so what better way to mark our 100th anniversary than by offering them amazing deals and rewards as a thank you. With unexpected prices and some deals featuring savings of up to 50 percent, it’s a great time to stock up and save on favorite items.”
The Giant Co. will continue celebrating its customers throughout September with in-store samplings and surprise giveaways, such as anniversary gift bags containing coupons, product samples, recipes and bonus Choice Rewards points. Customers who attend a virtual dietitian class during September will also receive 100 Choice Rewards points.
“Since the opening of our first location in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, The Giant Co. has been proud to share so many moments with families and be part of incredible communities. These deals build upon the already incredible savings and value we offer our customers everyday, while helping us thank customers for choosing us for the past century and reaffirming our commitment to providing the best value and experience for the next 100 years,” Crishock said.
In addition to the anniversary deals, employees joined the Second Harvest Food Bank to volunteer and donate $100,000 to its school and mobile food pantry programs, expanding food access for nearly 1,500 children in need across Lehigh, Northampton, Carbon and Wayne counties.
“As The Giant Company celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, we are reminded of our longstanding commitment to make a difference in the communities we serve,” said Tim Santoro, divisional VP, Greater Philadelphia.
“Eliminating hunger is essential to this work. We are so proud to support Second Harvest’s school and mobile food pantry programs as part of our celebrations, which will expand food access for children and their families, connecting them to a better future.”
In 2022, The Giant Co. donated more than $60,000 through its Eliminating Hunger round-up program and more than 825,000 pounds of food to Second Harvest Food Bank. Its school and mobile food pantry programs help address hunger gaps, providing children and their families with pantry items through local food distribution.
“The Giant Co. has been a phenomenal partner and friend…for many years. They support us in so many ways – from direct food donations to volunteering in our warehouse,” said Allison Czapp, associate executive director, Second Harvest Food Bank.
“We are so thankful to have such a dedicated and invested company standing beside us to ensure everyone in our community has access to the foods they need to thrive.”
The Giant Co. also recently donated $100,000 to the Helping Harvest Fresh Food Bank and gave 10,000 bags of food and other school supplies to local organizations for back-to-school season. All these donations have been given in commemoration of its 100th anniversary celebration.
