Fareway Stores Inc. hosted a ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony Aug. 29 for its store in LeClaire, Iowa. The grocer renovated the 18,000-square-foot former Slagle’s store at 1301 Eagle Ridge Road.
“We are excited to join and serve the community of LeClaire,” said CEO Reynolds W. Cramer. “We want to thank the community and local officials for their support in welcoming Fareway to LeClaire.”
The new Fareway location will provide an extensive grocery selection, with fresh-cut produce, healthy varieties and locally-sourced items, in addition to a variety of craft beer, fine wines and top-shelf spirits. A full-service butcher counter with the highest quality meat and a made-fresh-daily bakery are also available.
Online ordering with curbside pickup can be found at Shop.Fareway.com. Customers can save $5 on their first online order by using coupon code “LECLAIREFIVE” during checkout through Sept. 30.
“Area residents have been eagerly anticipating a community grocery store with some of the freshest meat and produce in the market,” said LeClaire Mayor Dennis Gerard. “Thank you for continuing to serve and invest in the community of LeClaire.”
The store will be led by Grocery Manager Jeremy Wight and Market Manager Justin Nielson. The location opened to the public Aug. 30 during normal business hours of 7 a.m.-9 p.m.
“We are thrilled to celebrate Fareway’s expansion into LeClaire,” said Dennis Bockenstedt, city administrator. “As we continue our efforts to make LeClaire a great place to live, work and play, Fareway’s new store will play a key role in that mission.”
