Lakeland, Florida-based Publix Super Markets opened a new store Aug. 10 at Churchill Square in Ocala, Florida.
The 48,387-square-foot store will offer departments for grocery, dairy, frozen food, seafood, meat and fresh produce, as well as a full-service bakery, deli and pharmacy with a pharmacy drive-thru. There also will be an adjacent Publix Liquors.
“We are excited to bring another Publix to our customers in Ocala,” said Hannah Herring, media relations manager. “We look forward to welcoming new and existing customers and providing them with premier service and quality products.”
Publix adds this store to its growing number of new and remodeled Florida locations, including supermarkets in Royal Palm Beach, Miami, Westlake, Melbourne, Fort Myers Beach, Sarasota and Kissimmee.
The Publix store features a deli counter with Boar’s Head meats and cheeses, as well as cured sausages, soppressata and aged prosciutto. The deli also offer an international selection of olives, antipastos, hummus and more than 200 artisan cheeses.
The produce department carries organic and conventionally-grown fresh fruits and vegetables, with locally grown produce as well as options from around the world.
The Florida store will feature a meat department with custom cuts, including Publix private label all-natural and organic GreenWise chicken. Its seafood department carries fresh seafood delivered throughout the week to the stores. It includes wild and farm-raised fish, as well as a wide variety of shellfish.
The store pharmacy has a large variety of body care products and a wide selection of natural and conventional vitamins, minerals and supplements.
The wine department offers a variety of specialty wines from the U.S. and around the world, along with a large selection of champagnes and sparkling wines. The selection also includes fine wines made with organic grapes.
The Florida Publix locations also provide contactless pay options and services, such as grocery delivery with Instacart, pharmacy delivery and an online pick up area at the front of the store.
