The Fresh Produce & Floral Council will hold its annual City of Hope luncheon Aug. 9 at the Sheraton Cerritos hotel in Cerritos, California.
Rebecca Calvin, SVP of Stater Bros. Markets, will serve as master of ceremonies. Calvin leads Stater Bros. Markets marketing efforts, which includes sales and merchandising, integrated marketing, e-commerce and food strategy and innovation departments.
The luncheon honors the cancer treatment and research center, as well as the contributions FPFC members have made to support it. All programming for the day is usually donated to its patient and doctor speakers. This year’s patient speaker will be John Cloer.
“We are proud to support the City of Hope in conjunction with the FPFC to help fundraise for crucial City of Hope funding; and support the great work that City of Hope continues to do,” said Jacob Cadwallader of Stater Bros., FPFC board member and co-chair of the luncheon.
“[It] is the perfect way to say ‘thank you’ all City of Hope supporters, both past and present.”
Each year, FPFC members raise money for City of Hope through the case rebate program and the luncheon. In 2022, they collected more than $140,000.
“The FPFC has a longstanding relationship with City of Hope and are always excited to dedicate this membership luncheon to their fundraising efforts and raising awareness for the great work they do,” said Alex Jackson of Frieda’s, FPFC’s luncheon committee chair and board member.
“Thank you to the City of Hope for allowing us to host this special event each year.”
