Lakeland, Florida-based Publix’s support of the March of Dimes has topped $100 million since 1995 to help improve the health of mothers and children.
The Publix campaign raised about $6.4 million in 2023, making it March of Dimes’ No. 1 corporate partner for the eighth year in a row.
Dwaine Stevens, Publix’s director of community relations, credited the milestone to “generous customers and dedicated associates.”
“It’s a privilege to be able to support a nonprofit organization that makes a difference to so many families in our communities, including those in the Publix family,” he said in a statement.
Kelly Ernst, March of Dimes SVP and chief revenue and market impact officer, expressed gratitude to the grocer and “its dedicated associates and customers.”
“For 29 years, [they] have inspired their community to help tackle the nation’s maternal and infant health crisis by supporting the critical work we do at March of Dimes,” she said.
“With more than $100 million raised, Publix’s donations are important to the success of March of Dimes’ ongoing efforts to increase awareness to help improve birth outcomes and access to care.”
The funds raised by Publix customers and employees help more than 9 million people access education during their pregnancy journeys. They also provide training and education to more than 33,000 healthcare professionals and supply critical information and medical supplies for NICU families.
