Fareway Stores Inc. hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony June 6 for its new location in Bondurant, Iowa.
The 15,464-square-foot store is located at 114 Brick St. SE, formerly known as Brick Street Market. The site has been transformed into a Fareway Meat and Grocery, next to the continuously operating Brick Street Café, Elite Health + Performance and Hypsie Salon.
“A decade ago, Brian and Mary Lohse brought a local grocery store to Bondurant, and we are so excited to continue their efforts as Fareway Meat & Grocery,” said Fareway CEO Reynolds W. Cramer. “We have been highly anticipating the store opening, and look forward to serving area residents and becoming an integral part of the Bondurant community.”
State Rep. Brian Lohse commented, “When Fareway expressed interest in the Bondurant community, we knew that Brick Street Market and Café had successfully done what we had intended – assisted in developing this community to the point that a grocery store was attracted and realized Bondurant’s true potential. We started Brick Street to add a much-needed amenity to Bondurant, and now we are happy and proud to pass the reigns to Fareway, and continue our relationship with Fareway, with the Brick Street Café.”
Providing for a full-service butcher counter and high customer service, the store offers a large grocery selection with fresh-cut produce, healthy varieties and locally sourced items, in addition to a variety of craft beer, fine wines and top-shelf spirits. The location also has an in-store bakery, where goods will be made fresh daily and special occasions orders will be accepted.
FastLanes, a self-service checkout option, and online ordering with curbside pickup is available at shop.fareway.com. Customers can save on their first online order by using the code, “BONFIVE,” to realize a $5 discount available through June 25.
“Fareway is a trusted, family-owned business with a long-standing history in Iowa. During construction, Fareway began offering online fulfillment orders as they knew that Bondurant has a continued grocery need. This has been appreciated by many and provides a great example of their commitment to their customers,” said Mayor Doug Elrod. “We are thankful for their support, positivity and innovative practices.”
The Bondurant store will be managed by Mike Hochstein, grocery manager, and Nathan Voshell, market manager.
