Fareway Stores Inc. hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony May 16 for its store at 16035 Hickman Road in Clive, Iowa. The 24,000-square-foot site opened as the company celebrates its 85th anniversary in May.
The store offers a large grocery selection, with fresh-cut produce, healthy varieties and locally-sourced items, in addition to a variety of craft beer, wines and top-shelf spirits.
The location will have Fastlanes, a self-service checkout option, and online ordering with curbside pickup. Customers can save on their first online order by using the code “CLIVEFIVE” to realize a $5 discount available through June 17.
“As we proudly celebrate 85 years in business, we are excited to open this new Clive store, which marks 135 Fareway store locations across a 7-state Midwest region,” said Reynolds W. Cramer, CEO.
“As the metro continues to expand, we look forward to growing with them and further serving area residents. Thanks to both local and state officials who made this project possible.”
The new store will be managed by Grocery Manager Josh Johnson and Market Manager Chris Irlbeck.
“On behalf of the Clive Chamber, we are excited to help celebrate Fareway’s new store opening in our community,” said Emily Bialas, chamber board president.
“We value our partnership for the past 13-plus years and look forward to continuing to support them at the second, new location in Clive. Thank you for choosing to make this investment in Clive.”
Clive Mayor John Edwards said, “Fareway’s reputation for outstanding meat and grocery will make this store a popular stop. And more than that, Fareway is a wonderful corporate partner who supports so many civic organizations and events in Clive.”
