The Giant Co. has announced plans for a new store in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania.
The 50,000-square-foot store will be built at the corner of Old York and Wyncote roads as part of a proposed redevelopment project. This will be the first store in Jenkintown for the company.
“With a decades-long history of serving Montgomery County, we are excited to bring Giant to Jenkintown,” said John Ruane, interim president.
“The Giant Co. is looking forward to serving the families of Jenkintown by offering a simplified shopping experience, inspiring fresh ideas and creating a healthier community, true to our purpose of connecting families for a better future.”
Construction on the Jenkintown Giant is scheduled to begin once municipal entitlements and permits are available. The new store will bring more than 100 jobs to the community. Specific store amenities, as well as opening date, will be shared at a later date.
The company operates 21 stores in Montgomery County and employs about 3,900 team members.
Guided by its brand platform, For Today’s Table, the company serves millions of people across Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and New Jersey with more than 35,000 employees supporting 193 stores, 132 pharmacies, 107 fuel stations and 180 online pickup hubs and grocery delivery service in hundreds of zip codes.
