Publix Pharmacy has received the Retail Specialty Pharmacy Patient Choice Award, presented by Zitter Insights, a division of Managed Markets Insights & Technology. This is the third time Publix Pharmacy has received this award.
“It’s an honor to once again be recognized by our customers and Zitter Insights. This award is a testimony to our team’s incredible dedication to providing premier service to our specialty pharmacy customers,” said Publix VP of Pharmacy Dain Rusk.
Publix Pharmacy operates a dual-accredited specialty pharmacy and the company’s traditional retail pharmacy. The specialty pharmacy dispenses and supports more complex medications not typically available at standard pharmacies, such as those developed to treat cancer and rare diseases.
MMIT created the Specialty Pharmacy Patient Choice Award to honor specialty pharmacies’ commitment to patients. It is presented to one winner and three finalists in four categories: Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) and Payer Specialty Pharmacy, Hospital and Health System Specialty Pharmacy, Independent Specialty Pharmacy and Retail Specialty Pharmacy. Winners and finalists were selected based on scores achieved during quarterly surveys of more than 10,000 specialty pharmacy customers.
To be considered for this award, specialty pharmacies must meet criteria set by a committee composed of representatives from pharmaceutical manufacturers, health plans, PBMs, trade organizations, consultants and equity research firms.
Publix, the largest employee-owned company in the U.S. with more than 240,000 associates, currently operates 1,335 stores in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia.
For 26 consecutive years, the Lakeland, Florida-based company has been recognized by Fortune as a great place to work. In addition, Publix’s dedication to superior quality and customer service is recognized among the top in the grocery business.
