Hy-Vee Inc. has opened two new stores in Wisconsin, expanding its footprint in the state to eight locations. The Janesville site is a reimagined grocery store with a new layout – the sixth of its kind for the retailer’s eight-state footprint. Hy-Vee also opened a store in the former Bill’s Food Center in Oregon, Wisconsin.
The 97,000-square-foot store in Janesville will offer a new dining experience for customers with a large, open food hall area for fast-casual dining, which includes its expanded breakfast menu; a pub with full-service bar including 32 taps and outdoor patio; mealtime offerings from Mia Italian; HyChi and Hibachi; Nori Sushi; Market Grille; Long Island Deli; and a Wahlburgers at Hy-Vee.
The store will carry about 120,000 items, including more than 6,000 specialty products, more than 8,000 HealthMarket selections and more than 3,500 in fresh produce (including 120 organic items). It will also offers additional amenities, such as an expanded HealthMarket department; an in-store Starbucks; and a pharmacy with a drive-up window.
Other in-store offerings include Joe Fresh clothing, a Pair Eyewear kiosk, DSW footwear, a beauty department and an expanded Candy Shoppe department with novelty and nostalgic selections. This location also has a large Hy-Vee Wine and Spirits department featuring a walk-in beer cooler and a climate-controlled wine room.
The Janesville location includes all-digital shelf labels that display product information and pricing and has more than 50 TVs that feature company-branded products, promotions and services. Digital kiosks are also available for customers to order cakes and fresh prepared foods, as well as access other offerings through Hy-Vee Financial Services. The store will feature new mobile payment technology with Hy-Vee Scan & Go, as well as self-checkout options.
Other amenities include Hy-Vee Aisles Online pickup and delivery, mother’s room, dry cleaning and postal services.
The Oregon store features a large Hy-Vee Wine and Spirits department, a specialty cheese department and prepackaged charcuterie, an expanded health and beauty department and a large greeting card section. Additional in-store offerings include Mealtime To Go offerings, natural, organic and gluten-free items and Hy-Vee Aisles Online grocery services.
