Tops Invests $1.4M For Store Renovation In Avon, NY

Tops Friendly Markets will hold a grand reopening Jan. 31 of its store at 600 Dream Valley Blvd. in Avon, New York.

This store serves a cross population of the community and allows for convenient access for those attending Geneseo College or enjoying nearby attractions. This renovation marks the 29th location updated with a new look and a renewed focus on fresh departments.

Tops will cut the ribbon on this million-dollar project at 10 a.m. This store will offer enhanced services, an expanded assortment of products and an enlarged fresh perimeter with new updated décor.

This store has been refreshed, including new exterior paint with awnings, Veteran designated parking spaces, energy efficient equipment and LED lighting, solar-powered efficiencies, expanded self-check outs, renovated restrooms, bottle redemption area and new interior décor.

Doug Linborg, store manager, said his team is working hard to offer their shoppers affordable, easy-to-prepare meal options, as well as providing some new additions.

“When it comes to freshness, convenience and variety, you’ll find everything here at your newly remodeled Avon store,” Linborg said. “With inspiring products including a wider selection of domestic and imported cheeses, a brew market, healthy hydration selection and custom cut meats by real butchers, guests are sure to enjoy all we have to offer.”

Consumer who attend the grand reopening have the chance to win prizes like $1,000 in Tops gift cards, a Bristol Mountain Aerial Adventure Park Family Prize Pack or a Rochester Amerks Family Night Prize Pack.

Tops Avon

Tops partners with more than 500 local produce and dairy farmers, including several in western New York. Tops supports product grown by farmers who adhere to the New York State Grown and Certified program’s requirements, which includes verification of safe food handling practices and participation in environmental sustainability programs.

Tops bakery offers an assortment of breads, pastries, cakes and fried doughnuts, along with gluten-free items from Vin-Chet’s, a local western New York bakery. Throughout the store, shoppers will also see an increase of antibiotic-free meat, plant based options and sustainable seafood selections, along with a larger selection of certified organic and gluten-free offerings.

There is also an expanded section of the store dedicated to healthy hydration including waters, teas, mixers and sparkling waters, including many imported varieties.

The Avon Tops store will be making $1,000 donations to each of the following local groups in celebration of its grand reopening: Avon Fire Department, Avon Food Pantry, American Legion Post 294, Avon Central Schools, St. Agnes School and the Christmas and Easter Sharing Program of York United Presbyterian Church.
