Schnuck Markets and St. Louis CITY SC have announced that the new soccer club has picked Schnucks as its “Proud Grocery Partner” for the upcoming season.
“As St. Louis’ hometown grocer, Schnucks is excited to welcome St. Louis CITY SC to our great sports city and proud to be a part of their inaugural season,” said Bill Bradley, chief marketing and communications officer. “We look forward to cultivating a longstanding partnership with the club and to celebrating professional soccer with CITY fans.”
Schnucks will play a role at every home CITY SC match by sponsoring “Player Pals,” a program that will allow local kids to accompany St. Louis CITY SC players as they walk out onto the pitch and stand with them during pre-game ceremonies. More details about Player Pals, including how a child can participate, will be shared on the Schnucks’ website and social media channels as the season approaches.
“Our youngest fans are the future of the club and important to everything we do,” said Dennis Moore, chief revenue officer, St. Louis CITY SC. “We are thrilled to have Schnucks on board as our Grocery Partner to help us create opportunities to empower the region’s soccer stars of tomorrow.”
Schnucks and CITY SC have also pledged to collaborate on community outreach opportunities in the region.
“St. Louis CITY SC is already inspiring our next generation of soccer players,” said Zach Collins, brand manager, Schnucks. “Our hope is to watch a St. Louis kid go from being a Schnucks-sponsored Player Pal alongside CITY’s starting 11 today, to wearing the St. Louis CITY SC kit on the pitch with the first team tomorrow.”
Other sponsorship partners include the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues, Saint Louis University, University of Missouri, University of Illinois, World Wide Technology Raceway and others throughout the Midwest.
