Gelson’s has announced the grand reopening of its store at 16450 Ventura Blvd in Encino, Calfornia. The celebration will take place at select times Dec. 9-11.
The relaunched Gelson’s Encino includes a remodeled Wine Cellar, Wolfgang Puck, Floral and Viktor Benes. The grand reopening will feature various vendor samples (such as wine and other center store options), kitchen holiday tastings and bakery samples. There will also be special prizes available for attending customers.
Vendor samples will be available 3-7 p.m. Dec. 9 and 11-3 p.m. Dec. 10-11. Special holiday dinner samples from the kitchen will be offered from 1-3 p.m. Dec. 10-11.
Celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2021, Gelson’s operates 27 full-service specialty food stores in Southern California. Each Gelson’s Market features the full amenities of a traditional supermarket, with the flavor of a neighborhood market. Gelson’s features for hand-selected produce, fresh cuts of meat and seafood and chef-prepared signature recipes.

Rob McDougall recently announced his intention to retire at the end of the year. John Bagan will succeed him in the role.
“Given the draw of family and now that we have successfully transitioned ownership of the company to be part of the PPIH global retail family, I believe the timing is right for me to start my next stage as a retiree,” he said.
